Bigger and Bolder Market this Year in Everett

2017 marks the 24th year for the Everett Farmers Market. Opening on a Sunday, Mother’s Day, the 4th of May, the farmers market will be at the Boxcar Park on the Everett Waterfront. What’s unique about the market this time? It will feature the largest group of juried vendors in market history. There will be a total 160 unique merchants, when vendors will rotate each week to fill 100 booth spaces every Sunday. In rain or shine weather, from 11am to 4pm, the market is open until October the 15th.

Due to the success of the Farmers Market in recent years, when visitors and locals swelled to thousands, a new addition is featured this season. For market shoppers’ convenience, a loading zone was added so that people’s cars are closer to the market when loading up. There’s also a newly constructed temporary access road, improved wayfinding and parking signage, pavement improvements for wheeled visitors and re-alignment of parking areas to ease parking congestion. Parking and shopping will be breezier now. To access the market, you take either 10th street or 13th street off West Marine View Drive and follow the signs.

What great finds can be you see at this market? Aside from the seasonal fruits and veggies grown at local farms and orchards all over Washington state, treat yourself to artisan foods like cheese, wine, honey, jam, coffee and more. They offer naturally raised and pasteurized meats, eggs and poultry, baked goods and dairy products. Find mushrooms, berries, corn and other dried edibles, grocery items, fresh seafood, and flowers, bulbs and flowering plants.

See children’s toys and apparel, bags and shoes and clothes, jewelry and leather crafts, soaps and perfume, home decor and gift items, kitchen and tableware, antiques and paintings, paper products, woodwork and other artisan products.

It’s a total family package where children’s activities abound, with live entertainment music, and certainly, food stalls and restaurants to pass your hunger. It’s better than before! So plot any week on your calendar and head for the market.
