Mukilteo’s Biggest Party of the Year
Mukilteo which means “good camping ground,” is a waterfront city in Snohomish County, Washington. It is one of the most affluent suburbs of Seattle, just 15 minutes away from Everett. Every year, around this time in late summer, the city hosts the biggest party of the year on the weekend after Labor Day – the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival. It’s now the event’s 52nd offering and no less than 20,000 people come to its beach setting every year.
On September 8, 9, 10, 2017, the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival brings the community together with entertainment & celebration. The setting is in and around the Mukilteo Lighthouse Park on the shores of Puget Sound and is a 1950s constructed filled tideland and a continuous public beach access.
There’s a long list fun stuff to do, great buys and great eats, and entertainment value like nowhere else. The grand fireworks display here is considered one of Snohomish county’s biggest shows. The best news is that – it’s all FREE! Look and see what’s in store.
The community based festival includes a 5k and 10k Run-A-Muk Race, now legendary with more than a thousand participants. This event has been previously held last August 26. There’s a parade, tennis tournament, fishing derby, and lots of live entertainment, including a Battle of the Bands that now has a growing fan base. There are arts and crafts booths and children’s activities like rock climbing, trampoline and movies.
The Mukilteo Marketplace bring out the region’s famous crops and produce, while artisans showcase anywhere from glass art to jewelry to bath soaps. The Avenue of Food is the delightful stroll down gastronomic selections from the region’s popular eateries and from homemade delicacies.
The Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival is co-sponsored by the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival Association and the City of Mukilteo.
